30 September 2009 - Firms unite to create regional force in accountancy and business advice

Waterworths have today merged with Beever and Struthers to create one of the largest independent practices in the North West. The merged firm will have a total of 26 partners and a staff of around 150.

Beever and Struthers will continue to operate from its offices in Manchester and London. Waterworths will remain at its premises in Richmond Terrace, Blackburn.

Phil Roberts of Beever and Struthers and managing partner of the merged firm added,
“The deal creates an exciting and independent force in accountancy and business advice and a credible alternative to the “Big Four” and other national firms. The merger is an excellent strategic fit for both firms and represents great news for our clients, staff and indeed the North West."

Commenting on the merger, Beever and Struthers senior partner, Chris Porritt, and Waterworths senior partner Alan Rowntree agreed, Our firms have a common ethos, each developed over more than a century of  delivering a high quality service. Our clients will continue to enjoy this along with the added benefit of access to even more knowledge and expertise."

"This merger is an exciting step change for Waterworths and the combined firm will offer a range of expert financial services as good as any available in the region", reflected Graham Wilson, who takes on the role of managing the new Blackburn office of Beever and Struthers.
